I am so proud to live in San Antonio, Texas. A couple of years ago the 60,000 sq foot Center for the Intrepid opened here in San Antonio. It is a one-of-a-kind facility offering rehab for soldiers that have lost limbs and comfort and support for their families. The center was funded by private donations to the Intrepid Foundation, a charity that is responsible for building numerous houses for the families of the soldiers as they undergo treatment. You would think that the stories of random acts of kindness would flow from the soldiers and their families.....the stories more often come from the community. The soldiers being treated at this hospital have reminded us all of the power of positive thinking, the strength of the human spirit and the rewards that always follow from hard work and determination. Thanks to all that assist in the rehab of these soldiers, their families that support them and to the soldiers that endure their challenges with a triumphant spirit.
