The other day my mom, Paula, and some friends went to lunch.  One of her friends decided that she wanted to buy my mom's lunch to thank her for some things my mom had helped her with.  During the lunch Paula noticed another group of women at a table nearby.  They appeared as if they were having a get together of friends, too.  Paula called the waitress over and told her that she would be buying their lunch.   The table of 3 women were very thankful and even the waitstaff came over to talk to her.  She explained that she didn't want recognition she just wanted to pass on the good deed of her friend buying her lunch.  She also told them about Character Cafe and the entire concept of doing for others and "passing the torch".  Each one of the waitstaff agreed and said they all wanted to pass it along too.  Hopefully this started a chain reaction among the Applebee's crew.
