What an inspiration! I saw this video on YouTube and found the story on Sports Feel Good Stories.com I only wish I could have been at this game.
Jackson Christian School took on Harding Academy in Tennessee high school football last friday night. Aric Sims, a senior on the Jackson Christian team, has cerebral palsy. Despite his physical limitations, he has supported the team for the past few years in a waterboy and team motivator role. For senior night, he earned the opportunity to suit up with the team.
Late in the game, with the help of both teams’ coaching staffs, a special play was called enabling Aric to score his first touchdown. To top off the night, Aric was also selected as MVP. All indications are that it was a very memorable night for Aric and those in attendance. As these coaches know, youth sports isn’t really about the won-loss records.
