Recently I participated in the peanut butter plan with Character Cafe and Emali Lane Salon here in San Antonio.  We took almost 300 peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, 7 cases of water, blankets, gloves, etc to the homeless.  We had the opportunity to talk to many people that were in need of the items that we were delivering.  I was so surprised that even though they have so many needs, not one time did anyone ask for cash.  They were only interested in their basic needs.  I absolutely will continue to collect personal hygiene products, blankets, jackets, gloves, etc and challenge others to do the same.  Character Cafe will be hosting another peanut butter plan and will have details on the home page.  Hard times can hit anyone at any time and it is the responsibility of everyone to be open to giving to help those that are in need.
