Last weekend I decided to purchase a new garage door opener.  My current one would not stay closed, it actually would pop back up on it's own.  I went to Lowe's to see what they had to offer.  They happened to have a sale going on which discounted the price of installation.  Something that helped in selling me on one of their garage door openers.   I spoke with a manager and another employee about exactly what I needed.  They answered my questions and I chose a middle of the line opener.  I have split garage doors so I didn't need a heavy duty one for just a single door.  They then assisted me in getting the boxed door opener to the counter for yet another employee to ring me up.  I then remembered that I had to make sure that my current keypad outside would still work on the new opener.  He assured me all would be fine and that the installers would take care of it.  When they came to install the opener I was then informed that this particular chain driven opener does not work with any keypad, not even a universal one.  Needless to say I was very upset!  I have two children and we depend on that keypad for them to get in and out of the house.  I called Lowe's immediately and spoke to Joe.  I explained my situation and he apologized for the misinformation I was given.  He put me on hold for about a minute and came back to inform me that he was going to upgrade me to a belt garage door opener which came with a new keypad and a few other neat features too.  He would not charge me for the difference.  He then, in my opinion, went above and beyond his job by actually doing the reversal of charges for the old and charging the new (at the same price as the old), without me even have to come back to the store.  He then loaded the new opener up in his own vehicle and drove it to my home.  He wanted to make sure that it was at my home as soon as they came to reinstall.  Again I didn't have to go back to the store.  That in itself was wonderful.  I did get the new belt garage door opener installed and all is great.  I am very thankful for such a hard and conscientous worker.  He made their error into a complete positive for me and I greatly appreciate all of his effort.  Thank you, JOE!!
