The San Antonio Police Department has a great program in which police officers from all over the city identify &  nominate needy families.  They raise money and collect donated toys and gifts to give to those families at Christmas time.  The police officers, as well as, volunteers sort , wrap and deliver all gifts to the appropriate families.  They also purchase food for Christmas dinner to

My daughter is a member of a high school Pep Squad and they are assisting in collecting toys and monetary donations for a local charity called   'Arden Cantwell's Stuff the Trunk Toy Drive' to benefit kids battling cancer.  They are in their 4th year and it was started because she had several friends  suffering from cancer and were going to be spending their birthdays, holidays, etc.
